'Star Wars Episode 7' News: First Footage Of The Film Released, Including Costumes & Random Creatures? [VIDEO]
The next Star Wars flick is about to hit theaters soon, and some footage from the film has reportedly been released.
In a clip published on Wednesday, director J.J. Abrams is giving a speech on how a lucky fan can win a trip to London to go behind the scenes of the film. As he's talking, a background of the set can be seen as it begins filming in Abu Dhabi. Random crew members can be seen walking around as it appears to be broad daylight. Little huts are all set up as other people look like they're in a costume.
All of a sudden, a random creature comes by that's carrying a cage with other bird-like creatures. The thing stops to look at Abrams as he's giving his speech, which the director stops and takes a look at. The creature with a white beard gives Abrams a little nod and then walks away.

The director recently wrote a note to everyone who's a part of the film that was posted on Complex.
The message reads:
"Dearest Cast and Crew, What an honor is to work beside all of you, on Star Wars Ep. VII. I can't thank you enough, for all work past and future. Let's take good care of not just ourselves, but of each other. Amazing, but true: the world awaits this film. Let's give 'em something GREAT. xo JJ."
Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
