As season 5 of The Good Wife just wrapped on May 18, showrunners, Robert and Michelle King, spoke about what's lined up for the next season in an interview dated May 18.

The finale concluded with Eli Gould (Alan Cumming) proposing Alicia (Julianna Margulies) becomea candidate for State's Attorney. A few other big changes were afoot, with Diane (Christine Baranski) deciding to join Florrick/Agos. The cliffhanger obvioulsy had to do with the big decision Alicia will have to take now.

The show creators spoke to E!Online. Robert gave a hint about what might be going through Alicia's mind.

Alicia And Kalinda To Reconnect And Reaffirm Friendship In Finale?

"You know what? We ended season four with "I'm in," where it was given that she and Cary were going to leave the firm even though there was some question," he said. "We start next year exactly where we left off this year and Alicia's reaction is, 'Are you f---ing insane? That's the last thing I want to do.' But things tend to change on the show."

But it seems like without giving away too they alluded to Alicia seriously considering the idea.

End of Season 9 Will Be 'Game-Changing' For Alicia?

"We can't tell whether she runs for State's Attorney, but we can tell you that thread is definitely not being dropped," Michelle said.

What seems to corroborate the point further is the fact that the Kings suggested that the show will be more political and there will be lesser court cases.

"Yes it is, we'll see just as in season five, we'll see some episodes that are light on court and others that are more traditional," he said.

The finale, titled A Weird Year, aired on May 18.
