As Criminal Minds just wrapped the finale of season 9, rumors about the next season are already doing the rounds.

Most recently there has been some buzz around the casting of the show, and if Morgan, played by Shemar Moore, will come back for the next season. A new report suggests that some of cast members haven't renewed their contracts yet and there is not telling if they will return on the show.

While Shemar Moore hasn't been reportedly confirmed for the next chapter, the status of some of the other actors, who play main characters, is also in flux.

Thomas Gibson, who plays Aaron Hitchner, Joe Mantegna, who plays David Ross, and also Kristen Vangsness and A.J. Cook haven't quite resolved some issues relating to their contracts with CBS.

But it could also be that the contracts haven't been officially drawn up yet as the cast and crew are taking a break having just wrapped the ninth season.

In a recent interview with TVGuide, Messner revealed that the early renewal for the show has been a very good thing for the cast and crew as all of them will be able to enjoy their break. Last year, it seems CBS gave the show very short notice causing a more tense situation but this time around they can take it easy. This could also mean that maybe the release date for season 10 might be pushed.

"These last two episodes took a lot out of everyone. It's a lot of work, but the payoff is great. But everybody needed to enjoy their break this year because last year," she said, "we couldn't enjoy it as much since we didn't [get the early renewal], so everybody was afraid to go on vacation and afraid to do anything."

The second and final part of the finale, Demons, aired on Wednesday, May 14 on CBS at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
