'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 2: Grant Ward's Feelings For Skye 'Genuine' [POLL]? Brett Dalton Explains SkyeWard & Redemption [VIDEO]
Agents of SHIELD's Grant Ward was trained to eliminate any weakness in his personality, but Agent Garret's lessons didn't stop him from forming attachments to Coulson's team.
The HYDRA agent spent several months infiltrating Phil Coulson's (Clark Gregg) newly assembled crew, and Ward (Brett Dalton) began to experience what life would be like if her were free of the Clairvoyant (Bill Paxton). While Ward clearly struggled with his orders to kill Fitz and Simmons, it was his feelings for Skye (Chloe Bennet) that left him more than a little confused.
"[I] think he's feelings for Skye are actually genuine," Dalton informed fans at Houston's Comicpalooza. "I think that he's...in a situation that he's never been in before and I'm not sure if he knows what feelings are real and what's false. He's been on this bus for however many months and he starts to have some feelings in his heart place and he hasn't had those before."

Bearing these newfound emotions in mind, Dalton believes that there is a chance for Ward to earn some form of redemption,
"Well, everybody deserves it, I'd say," Dalton explained. "I don't think there's anybody who's really like, at their core, evil. I think you make certain choices along the way."
It's clear that ward has made some incredibly terrible decisions in his life (see his arrest below), but season 2 may give him a chance to turn over a new leaf. Do you want Ward to gain redemption or has the double agent fallen too far? Tell us in the poll below!
Agents of SHIELD will return to ABC this fall.
