It's unclear what kinds of teams fans of The Amazing Race can expect on the upcoming 25th season, but those based in New York may be able to get a first glance at them as they begin their journey.

Season 25 To Feature More Landmarks And Fan Suggested Locations?

The official confirmed start line for the 25th season is in none other than New York City's Times Square, the first time the series will mark its beginning at the famous "Crossroads of the World."

Both CBS and show host Phil Keoghan have confirmed that the starting line will be in Times Square, and that filming for the race will officially begin in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 31.

'Amazing Race' Moving To Friday Nights?

"I will be saying 'Go!' @ the #AmazingRace #TAR25 starting line tonight? 5/31 3AM! #timessquare @I_LOVE_NY love to see you!" Keoghan tweeted May 30.

Though it is the first time the show will have its start line at Times Square, it isn't the first time starting off in New York. The Season 1 Start line was in Central Park, with a finish line at the Flushing Meadows Park-Unisphere in Queens, while Season 8 started at the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park and ended in Lewiston. Seasons 10 and 21 also had New York City locations, with finish lines in Garrison and at Gotham Hall.

Fans who head to the Season 25 starting line could also find themselves in the company of past racers, as Luke Adams, who appeared on seasons 14, 18 and the recently ended 24th with his mother, Margie O'Donnell, has hinted he may watch the race start as well.

"@PhilKeoghan is it allright for former racers to show up at the starting line and cheer the new teams on?" Adams tweeted.

"Of course, it would be great to have you here!" Keoghan replied.

The Amazing Race season 25 is slated to air Fridays at 8 p.m. this fall on CBS.
