A casting call for season 3 of House of Cards was recently announced and in a recent chat with the casting call director for the Netflix series, she revealed what kind of profile they were looking for.

In an interview dated June 7 with CBS, Kimberly Skyrme, the local casting director spoke about what they were looking for.
"We have to visualize them looking like a D.C. politician or an ambassador or a lobbyist. So if they come that way, it just makes it easier for us to visualize," she said.

A recent report also suggests that judging by the information gathered from casting calls -- one of which suggest that filming will take place through mid-July -- it seems like the Netflix show will premiere in mid-2015 if everything goes as planned.
The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
