Masters of Sex is getting some new faces for its second season. In addition to the already announced Sarah Silverman (Michael Sheen's real-life girlfriend), fans can expect some well-known actors to join the sexy show.

Sarah Silverman Plays On 'Masters of Sex'

Variety announced that Courtney B. Vance and Rene Auberjonois have joined Masters of Sex. Vance will play the recurring role of Dr. Hendricks who is the head of an African-American hospital in St. Louis. Dr. Hendricks wishes to racially integrate his hospital.

Auberjonois, meanwhile, will play Dr. Papanikolaou, who is a former professor of Dr. DePaul (Julianne Nicholson).

Dr. DePaul and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) hope that Dr. Papanikolaou will endorse their screening program, which they have named after him called the pap smear.

Sexual Revolution Explodes Between Virginia And Bill

Virginia has a lot of changes in season 2 of the show, especially with Bill (Sheen). "One of the things that's exciting about our show - daunting but exciting - is that every year is going to look pretty different," showrunner Michelle Ashford told Entertainment Weekly. "Bill and Virginia's careers changed and they went from total obscurity to the front of Time magazine. The sexual revolution was exploding, and Masters and Johnson were a huge part of that."

Season 2 kicks off right where season 1 left off with Bill at Virginia's door declaring his love for her. In a new preview (shown below), the two take their studies to the next level.

"We could have an affair," Virginia tells Bill in the teaser trailer, "but what we have is so much more. We have the work."

Masters of Sex returns to Showtime on July 13.
