'Terminator 5' News: Script 'Hearkens Back To The First Two' Movies With 'More Of An Injection Of Humor'? [VIDEO]
J.K. Simmons, who will be playing a new character in Terminator: Genesis, spoke about working on the film and dished about what fans can expect from the movie, during a recent interview at Cannes 2014.
Speaking to Total Film the actor confirmed the fact that he would be playing a new character in the film. While talking about signing on for the part he added that he was initially "skeptical of the script" but that once he read it he sensed great promise in the movie and was also drawn to the employment of more humor in the writing.
"It's really wonderful, it's a really smart script, it has a lot of funny stuff in it," he said. "Great action and really intelligent sci-fi. I think it's going to be a really good movie."

While he was pretty cautious about giving away any spoilers he did hint at where this might be headed.
"To me, it hearkens back to the original two which I'd seen way back in the prior century, but with a contemporary sensibility and more of a sense of humor actually," he said. "It's going to be a great combination of familiar turf for fans of that world that James Cameron created all those years ago but also a stand-alone thing that will succeed with or without that."
The new film is being directed by Alan Taylor and Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to reprise his role as the iconic mean machine. Jai Courtney will be playing Kyle Reese, Jason Clarke will be portraying the part of John Connor, and Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor. Sandrine Holt (House of Cards) will be playing Detective Cheung, who will arrest Kyle and Sarah when they arrive in 2017.
