'Avengers Age Of Ultron' James Spader Roles Never 'Weird Enough', Will Joss Whedon's Ultron Fit The Bill? [VIDEO]
The Avengers: Age of Ultron will introduce fans to the films eponymous baddie, and knowing James Spader, the sentient robot will be calculating and ruthless.
Spader is currently employed as Raymond 'Red' Reddington on The Blacklist, but the former Boston Legal actor will also take on the role of Joss Whedon's next villain. Set to terrorize the Avengers in 2015, Ultron will undoubtedly fit a few of Spader's favorite character traits.
"Maybe it's that I like reading something on the page that allows you to fill in the blanks as an actor. Or maybe it's something I have an understanding for...I just always am drawn to that, even on the street," Spader told the LA Times of his recent roles. "It never quite gets weird enough for me. And when I look at all my friends, they're weird. Maybe I have to cop to that. Maybe I'm just that."

Whatever Spader is, he was just what Marvel was looking for.
"Ultron in the comics is a robot, but what's cool about him in the comics -- and certainly how Joss Whedon is interpreting him for the movie -- is that he is much more than just a robot," said Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' president of production, according to the Huffington Post. "That he's infused with much character. And I don't want to say too much, but you can imagine James Spader will be very dynamic in his portrayal of this character."
