'Pitch Perfect 2' Casting: Freddie Stroma Returning As Luke For The A Capella Sequel? [VIDEO]
The Harry Potter film franchise helped to launch the careers of a lot of young actors, including that of Freddie Stroma. The 27-year-old London native played Cormac McLaggen in the later half of the Harry Potter films and played Luke in the 2012 musical hit Pitch Perfect.
Elizabeth Banks Continues To Release Pitch Perfect 2 Candid Photos?
Now that the highly anticipated Pitch Perfect 2 is in the works, is Stroma due for a call? Will his character make an appearance? The character didn't get the most screen time compared to the more prominent female leads, but no one seems to have counted him out of casting just yet.
With over half the original cast returning and creator Elizabeth Banks making her directorial debut, fans wouldn't be surprised if all of the original performers were offered roles. After all, some of the narrative was worked out to include characters that would have graduated high school between the first two films.
Can Pitch Perfect 2 Eclipse The Original Hit?
Rumors indicate that Stroma has neither confirmed nor denied reports that he will return in the sequel. Filmmakers have not formally commented, though he is absent from the cast photos Banks has released via Instagram.
While most of her photos involve "the girls" and the film revolves around a female-dominated narrative, Stroma did make a strong enough impression in Pitch Perfect to warrant at least the question of his return for the new film.
Pitch Perfect 2 is currently in production. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in Spring 2015.
