'Agents of SHIELD' Season 2: Guest Spot For Two Avengers As Marvel Series Takes Darker Turn? Coulson's Team May Get Superhero Help [VIDEO]
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will keep battling HYDRA in season 2, but the ABC series will take a darker turn this fall. Luckily for Agent Coulson's (Clark Gregg) team, they may receive a helping hand from two of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Marvel's flagship live action series has jumped from the ultra kid-friendly 8 p.m. ET time slot to the slightly more mature 9 p.m. ET slot on Tuesdays. With this change, the superhero-fueled series can wrestle with a few more sinister topics.
"We're at 9 o'clock now instead of at 8, so I think that allows the writers that little bit of extra room because towards the end of the season it was getting pretty dark," said Elizabeth Henstridge (Simmons), according to GATE Magazine. "So I think we're going to keep that tone and hopefully get some answers to the many questions [introduced in season 1]."
Considering SHIELD was essentially obliterated by the emergence of a group of embedded HYDRA agents during Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Coulson's small team is virtually alone on the international stage.
Well, they would be if it weren't for two possible Avenger collaborators, according to Spoiler TV. Reports from the Sydney edition of the Supernova Pop Culture Expo indicate that Ming-Na Wen (Agent May) has dropped a hint regarding two potential Avengers sightings during season 2 of SHIELD.
