Now that David Clarke (James Tupper) is back and Aiden Mathis (Barry Sloane) is dead, Emily (Emily VanCamp) has every reason to drop her alter ego and reunite with her murderous father while opening up her love life.

"This year, Emily has the opportunity to come out as Amanda Clark," explained executive producer Aaron Harberts, according to Variety. "As we get to know more about Emily/Amanda, she has to start confronting all the things she's left undone and the mess she's left behind, and how willing is she to clean up messes for all the people who've taken such good care of her? As we launch into season four, Jack becomes the center of that turmoil."

A potential live interest for Amanda/Emily, Jack (Nick Wechsler) is one of the few people who was close to the young Amanda and is currently a close confidant of the adult Emily. Armed with his knowledge of a more innocent version of the vengeance-seeking woman, Jack will try and help his childhood crush return to her true self.

"I think he's crazy about her and wants to see justice being done," Wechsler told Variety. "His feelings for her will draw him into some morally complex situations. He might be willing to do something illegal, but less likely to do something immoral."
