HBO has just released a special retrospective video called "A Farewell to Bon Temps" that features the cast and crew including Alan Ball discussing the hit vampire show.
"As the person tasked with bringing this thing home, I'm very conscious of bringing it back to a center," executive producer and showrunner Brian Buckner said in the special. "I think we had a lot of wild sex. We really let go of convention, but I think people will really sort of feel like this was a love story at the end of the day."
Will Eric Get A New Love Interest In Final Season?
Buckner had previously said that Season 7 would refocus on the relationship between Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer).
"We're going back to the original promise of the show: Bill and Sookie," Buckner told TV Guide about the two beloved main characters. "People are going to be very surprised about the way we get there. There's romance, sadness and resolution."
Speaking of that relationship, Moyer talked about meeting his now real-life wife Paquin on the True Blood set. "I met Anna that first day, and you don't expect to meet the person that you're gonna get married to on the job that you're doing," Moyer said. "And have as much fun on the job as well." The two now also have two children together.
True Blood airs June 22 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
