Teen Wolf's Malia Tate may finally have her werecoyote transformations under control, but the Beacon Hills student has a long way to go when it comes fitting back into society.

Scott's First Beta Revealed On 'Teen Wolf', Which New Character Will Get The Bite?

After spending eight years in the woods, Malia (Shelly Hennig) was shocked back into her human form by Scott's (Tyler Posey) growl during season 3. Now, the young werecoyote is working to assimilate high school life and deal with the impending revelation of her true parentage.

"Part of her arc across the season is to figure out whether or not this teenage life is for her. She struggles with that - and with learning the truth about her father, Peter," said series creator Jeff Davis, according to Buzzfeed. "They intentionally haven't told her in an effort to protect her. Their struggle is knowing they have to tell her, but not knowing how because, if they tell her about Peter, she's going to go to Peter and Peter gets into people's heads, which they're worried about."

While Beacon Hill's supernatural teens try to make sure Malia has the power to resist Peter Hale's (Ian Bohen) inevitable evil plans, Ms. Tate (or rather Ms. Hale) will continue to act on her animalistic impulses.

"Malia, is a teenage girl, but she's got a skewed view of the world; she's got the perspective of a wild animal," Davis explained. "Which is, fight or flight, survival of the fittest."

Find out how Malia will cope with her new reality when Teen wolf returns to MTV on June 23.
