Mark Ruffalo's Hulk To Receive Solo Film [VIDEO]? Should Marvel Studios Continue 'Entertaining The Idea'? [POLL]
A Hulk solo film may finally be under consideration.
Marvel's green rage monster could have another shot at the big screen, and not just in an Avengers collaboration. The Mark Ruffalo iteration of Bruce Banner could be in line to receive his own movie, a feat believed impossible after the studio's 2008 Incredible Hulk failure.
"I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it," Ruffalo recently informed Digital Spy. "When we did The Avengers it was basically 'No!', and now there is some consideration for it. But there's still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut."
Although Ruffalo's complex portrayal of the largest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Joss Whedon's The Avengers received praise from the comic book community (see video below), a solo film continued to seem like an insurmountable project until recently.
Whedon previously spoke on his desire to launch a Bruce Banner-centric film, but the sci-fi director was quick to acknowledge the potential problems.
"The Hulk is the most difficult Marvel property because it's always about balance," Whedon told Deadline. "Is he a monster? Is he a hero? Are you going to root for a protagonist who spends all his time trying to stop the reason you came to the movie from happening? It's always a dance."

The Hulk can next be seen in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set for a May 1 release.
