After Brad Pitt's mother made headlines last week for writing an Anti-Obama Anti Same-Sex Marriage letter, the actor's brother Doug Pitt has now got into the spotlight.

Doug Pitt appears in a new Virgin Mobile Australia ad that has gone viral. The ad has more than 1 million views on YouTube as of Monday. Pitt's brother says he is shocked about the ad's popularity.

"It's a little surreal," he told Matt Lauer on the "Today" show Monday. "But it's fun. This whole campaign was to be tongue-in-cheek and have fun and luckily, it's hit its mark."

The comedy ad titled "The Second Most Famous Pitt in His Family" features Doug Pitt doing day-to-day things in an "ordinary" life as compared to the life of his super star brother.

Doug told the "Today" show that he asked Brad's opinion before doing the ad.

"I did call him and said, 'Hey, what do you think?' and he said, 'Do it, sounds great!'" After the ad came out Brad texted Doug: "Hey, just saw it -- hilarious." "I was pleased," said Doug.

Although viewers said Doug did a good job in the ad and praised his "acting" skills, he is not in the entertainment business. Doug runs a family computer business and runs a charity to help low-income children.

Last week, Pitt's mother Jane Pitt wrote and anti-gay and pro- Mitt Romney letter to a Missouri newspaper. In the letter to the Springfield News Leader she bashed President Obama and said it was unchristian like to vote for him.

"Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney's opponent, Barack Hussein Obama -- a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright's church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."
