Lady Rose and Lady Edith are likely going to share a joyous moment together when Downton Abbey returns to television for a fifth season.

Thomas Will Have Something To Smile About?

The news came from a photo that was posted on The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday. Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) and Lady Rose (Lily James) are seen in a room with shelves filled with books behind them. Edith is wearing a long green dress while Rose is wearing a honey-colored one.

Rose has a wide grin on her face as she looks at Edith while Edith has slightly less of a smile. She looks down as her hands are clasped together.

Former Character To Return To The Series?

This is one of a number of other photos added to the site that show images of Hugh Bonneville, Maggie Smith and Michelle Dockery.

Joanne Froggatt will also be returning as Anna where she will likely be dealing with some scary issues after her shocking sexual assault. The actress mentioned that the aftermath of the incident is what series creator Julian Fellowes wanted to focus on.

"I feel that's the part of this situation that Julian wanted to focus on, what happens after some things," Froggatt told GoldDerby in a live interview.

The actress also revealed that while Anna and her husband will have some challenges, it won't necessarily begin that way.

"We start Season 5 with Anna Bates in a slightly more positive place," Froggatt said. "The season finale was a year on from the attack. Time has moved forward...but there is still this shadow hanging over them, so they still have more hurdles to cross, unfortunately."

Downton Abbey Season 5 is expected to premiere in January 2015 on PBS.
