Falling Skies' Tom Mason is currently locked up in an Espheni jail, but the resistance fighter will spend the rest of season 4 solving some of the series' biggest questions.

Hal & Lourdes Have A 'Deep Bond' On 'Falling Skies', Will They Pair Off In Response To Ben & Maggie's Romance?

The season 4 premiere scattered the 2nd Mass like seeds in the wind. Now separated into four groups, the characters viewers have come to know and love have embarked on some pretty complicated storylines. But no matter how chaotic the series might currently seem, Noah Wyle (Tom) promises that the plot will soon become a lot clearer.

"This season starts off [complicated] and from what I've read, everyone is thoroughly confused," Wyle said on The View. "Be patient. All will reveal itself. This is a season that actually ties up a lot more loose ends than it initiates which is very satisfying."

Despite a host of new alien problems, Tom's main priority is still his children - Hal (Drew Roy), Ben (Connor Jessup), Matt (Maxim Knight), and Lexi (Scarlett Byrne).

"To think about the circumstances these character live in and its just about basic survival and trying to keep your family intact and together and alive and all those weird ethical questions about which is the better form of parenting," Wyle explained. "Should you try to shield them and allow them some semblance of a childhood or should you arm them and train them so that they have the best chance of survival?"

The professor attempted to shield Matt for as long as possible and probably plans to do the same with Lexi, although he doesn't know that his young daughter has already aged into a young woman.
