The premiere date for season 3 of Arrow was revealed by The CW on June 25.

The action thriller series will return with its next chapter on October 8.

Spoilers for the upcoming season have also been surfacing of late. Recently it was revealed that four new characters will be introduced in the next season.

On June 14, TVLine revealed details from the an official casting call for The CW series. The information unveils not only the names of the characters but also very precise descriptions. The crew requires three men and one woman, and one of the characters will actually feature from the past in the show. The character of Toshi will actually be seen in flashbacks as Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) mentor in Hong Kong. The female character, Akiko, will be Toshi's wife. Fans should get excited as there is one "tech-powered superhero" -- Daniel -- and a new villain, a "well-educated criminal -- Seth.

Here's the official press release for season 3 of the show:

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. He returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice.

To do this, he creates the persona of the Arrow and allies himself with former military man John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), street brawler Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) and international assassin Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), while keeping his secret from those closest to him including his sister Thea (Willa Holland), who has allied herself with his most deadly enemy. Rivalries and allegiances will shift as Oliver faces his most difficult challenge yet."

The finale, titled Unthinkable, of season 2 of Arrow aired on May 14 on CW.
