According to Forbes.com, True Blood was number seven in the Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings Weekly Top Ten for last week (ending June 22). PLL was number one for TV series and specials with 405,000 event-related Tweets that were seen by a Unique Audience of 3.9 million people. True Blood had 106,000 Tweets seen by a Unique Audience of 1.8 million people.
True Blood was up in viewers from last season according to Deadline. The website reported that across all four showings of the vampire drama, True Blood averaged 5.8 million viewers, up from 5.6 million viewers last season.

With all the excitement due to the drama's last season, it's easier to see why True Blood creators decided to kill off original cast member Tara (Rutina Wesley) in the season premiere and create a water cooler moment.
"It was kind of crazy. I was like, 'Wow, OK!' But that's what makes it True Blood. We're in our final season. We have to keep it bloody. Somebody's gotta go!" Wesley told TVGuide.com.
"I was OK with it," Wesley said about dying on the TV show. "I'm sad. It's kind of bittersweet because I'm going to miss everybody, but on to bigger and better things. It's been a wild ride so far."
