According to actor Tony Goldwyn, anything can happen on the critically-acclaimed ABC drama, Scandal. The 54-year-old actor, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant on the series, opens up about his relationship with co-star Kerry Washington and what's next for the show.

Goldwyn says that while he loves working with Washington, who just became a new mother when she gave birth to her daughter Isabelle in May, she does manage to provoke a reaction out of him once in awhile.

"It's fantastic, Goldwyn told Us Weekly of his relationship with Washington. "Except that she teases me constantly. Everyone makes fun of me but it's really great."

Goldwyn also talks about Columbus Short, who was surprisingly fired from the series and how creator Shonda Rhimes keeps the cast and crew on their toes on almost a daily basis on the show's set. He also hints that "anything can happen" for the show's upcoming fourth season.

"He's great," Goldwyn says of Short. "But on Scandal, like what happened to Dan Bucatinsky [and his character James Novak] last year, you never know when we're gonna survive!"

"We're all just so thrilled to be a part of it," he added. "Every day we just trust Shonda, she's great. There's always a surprise."

Scandal is due back on the small screen on ABC this Fall.
