'Hannibal' Season 3: NBC Series Receives Multiple Saturn Awards, Which Male Lead Picked Up Best Actor? [VIDEO]
Hannibal recently concluded it's second course this spring, and the NBC series was richly rewarded for their work during Thursday night's Saturn Awards.
Presented by the Academy of Science fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films, the 2014 Saturn Awards not only recognized Hannibal's achievements as a whole series, but also singled out its lead actors and creator for their hard work.
Nominated for four awards, the cast of Hannibal went home with two UFO statues and one legacy award.
Up against Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, The Blacklist, The Following, Revolution, Sleepy Hollow, and Under the Dome, NBC's Hannibal tied Revolution for Best Network Television Series Release. Meanwhile, Mads Mikkelsen (Dr. Lecter) beat out co-star Hugh Dancy (Will), Kevin Bacon, Bryan Cranston, Freddie Highmore, James Spader, and Noah Wyle in the power-packed Best Actor in a Television Series.
To cap off a banner night for the series, Hannibal series creator Bryan Fuller also walked away with the Dan Curtis Legacy Award. Creator of Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, and Wonderfalls, Fuller kicked off his sci-fi career by writing for such iconic titles as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Heroes.
