HBO has begun promotion for the final season of Boardwalk Empire, adopting the new motto "no one goes quietly."

Fans Fear The Worst For Chalky White On 'Boardwalk Empire'

Sunday, the network released a new teaser (featured below), proving that there is still plenty of insecurities, violence, and destruction to go around. Appropriately set to the song One (Is The Loneliest Number) the trailer flashes the words "All. Empires. Fall" across the screen between shots of those like Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza), Al Capone (Stephen Graham). With these words the series promises major conflict to ensue as it comes to a close.

Actor Vincent Piazza Reveals Favorite 'Boardwalk Empire' Prop

Considering the ultimate real life demise of Luciano and Capone, the show could be following history as it details the crumbling of their empires. The era of the traditional "gangster" eventually came to a close, leaving many of these characters dead or imprisoned.

"The trick's to stay alive long enough to cash out," says Nucky during the preview. Enoch "Nucky" Johnson, on whom Buscemi's character is based, did survive the criminal world, dying of natural causes in 1968. His reign over Atlantic City, however, came to an end during the 1930s, which is also when the series' fifth season will pick up this fall.

Will Nucky "cash out?" Could a departure from historical accuracy lead to his death?

In this world of sex, drugs, deceit, and booze, only one thing can be counted on for certain: No one goes quietly.

Boardwalk Empire turns to HBO for its fifth and final season September 2014.
