'The Originals' Season 2 Premiere: CW Series Casts 'The Wire' Alum For New Episodes, Family Drama Continues With Return Of Mikaelson Parents [VIDEO]
With production already underway, The CW is wasting no time in getting season two of The Originals up and running. The series doesn't return to television until October, but the cast and fans alike are already excited to see what's in store after the tense season finale.
'The Originals' Season 2 Spoilers
The increasingly popular CW spin-off will be introducing some new blood this season. Earlier this month Den of Geek announced that Daniel Sherman (Teen Wolf) will appear as a witch named Kaleb, and a contender for the season's new "baddie" could be found in the powerful witch Lenore, played by Sonja Sohn (The Wire, The Good Wife).
Supposedly, conflict will arise between Lenore and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) by the season's third episode, but will Lenore be the new "baddie" this season, or will that title be retained by the infamous Mikaelson parents?
'The Originals' Season 1 Spoilers
In an interview back in May, Morgan admitted that Klaus and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) will be facing the wrath of their mother and father, both of whom have been dead since the Mikaelson brood were still secondary characters on the CW's The Vampire Diaries.
"They're not very happy with us," explained Morgan of Mikael and Esther Mikaelson, who returned from beyond the grave to wreak a little havoc in season one. "We're responsible for killing both of them," added Morgan, "So I imagine they'll be seeking revenge."
If witches and vengeful parents aren't enough to deal with, the werewolves are promised to be a prominent part of the series' new season.
Who will come out on top? That is something fans will have to wait for to find out.
The Originals returns for its second season on the CW Monday, October 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
