Vikings will kick off season 3 with quite a bit of travel. From sailing to raiding to overland treks, Ragnar and his warriors will be on the move quite a bit.
Alfred The Great's Mother Cast On 'Vikings', Who Else Will Join Travis Fimmel For 2015 Return?
The History Channel series began filming for its third season in early June, and the cast has flooded their respective Twitters with updates and photos to keep fans apprised of their movements (see photos above).
Filming primarily in Ireland, the series spent several days at Blessington Lake hammering out a gory fight scene. According to the Independent, the pebbly beaches were strewn with bloody corpses while other member of the deceased where dangling from tree branches.
"Spent 9 hours on a #viking boat today," tweeted Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn) on June 9. "Tough days but gonna look incredible."
Just as the Viking world was littered with death, recreating that atmosphere can result in a few accidental injuries. Gaia Weiss (Porunn) learned this the hard way.
"Injured myself today on set, but didn't give up!" Weiss captioned a photo of her carefully wrapped ankle. "Do you think Porunn would have given up? #fierce."
