It looks like the writers for The CW's The Originals are hard a work this summer shaping the series second season.
New Cast Members Join The Originals For Season 2
Executive Producer Julie Plec announced via Twitter June 18th that it was the first week back in the writers room for the program.
Last week, Plec, who remains actively involved with the cast and crew for both The Originals and The Vampire Diaries, teased at new storylines. "Tomorrow's story pitches will be epic," Plec tweeted.
The Originals Season 2 Spoilers
Actress Leah Pipes, who plays Cammie on the show, apparently agrees. "You guys..." she wrote on Twitter June 28, "Season 2 is going to be freaking EPIC!!!"
There is no shortage of enthusiasm to be found online from the cast and crew. Plec, along with actors Joseph Morgan, Steven Krueger, Daniel Gillies, and Charles Michael Davis frequently live-tweeted the show during the first season. With the series moving to a new night this October, fans are likely to expect more of the same.
The Originals will precede the network's new series Jane The Virgin, while The Flash will take The Originals' former Tuesday night slot. New series are typically paired with successful shows with the hope of boosting ratings right out of the gate, and so it would seem that The Vampire Diaries spin-off has garnered enough success to warrant the "carrying in" of a new series.
The Originals returns to The CW for its second season Monday, October 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
