Hannibal and Bedelia Du Maurier are in the wind, but their unexpected trip to Europe may give Gillian Anderson a larger role in the drama.

The X-Files actress has only appeared in 9 Hannibal episodes to date, but this problem was largely due to scheduling issues. Series creator Bryan Fuller would "love, love, love" for Anderson to join the cast as a series regular, according to TV Line, and he's not the only one.

Hugh Dancy (Will) is also a huge fan of creating an expanded role for Anderson. Now that Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) has taken an extra special interest in his psychiatrist, Dancy believes there is definitely potential for Du Maurier will receive more screen time.

"Hannibal has this M.O. of taking people and guiding them toward their worse, or as he might see it, better selves," Dancy explained to TV Line. "And by and large, they go off and do terrible things and they die. But both with Will and now, Bedelia, [Hannibal] has done that, but also taken much more interest in them."

Meanwhile, Fuller is working on scheduling a five-week European shoot for his cast, and it is very likely that Hanni's traveling companion will be featured alongside him as he evades justice.
