'The Originals' Season 2 Spoilers: CW Stars Talk Time Jump, Vengeance, And 'Matt Damon' For New Season [VIDEO]
The CW's The Originals returns this fall for its second season. While the series garnered great success with its last few episodes, the cast has indicated that there will be a slight time jump between the end of season one and the beginning of the new season in October.
New Cast Members For The Originals Season 2
Actor Joseph Morgan, who plays the complicated hybrid and original vampire Klaus Mickelson, recently admitted that the season two premiere will pick up four to six months after the events of the finale.
Morgan, Daniel Gillies, and Charles Michael Davis recently took some time to talk with IGN (featured below), joking and laughing with one another in between questions. In regards to the series, however, the three actors proved themselves incredibly invested in the characters.
The Originals Cast Teases New Season
"It [Season 2] finds them still in the wake of this tragedy," explained Morgan, adding that Klaus and his brother Elijah (Gillies), are "starting to think about who's responsible...none of course blaming themselves, but looking to cast the blame elsewhere."
"What's wonderful about Klaus," added Gillies, "Is he's so impetuous and so infantile at times, he wants everything so immediately, but Elijah's patience sort of enables them to be able to take this three months" to figure out what to do next.
While the series does circle around the Mikaelson family, Davis warned fans not to count friend-turned-foe Marcel out of the game yet. "He used to run the city before they [Klaus and Elijah] got there, so he might have some insights."
At this point in the interview Morgan and Gillies began to tease Davis, comparing Marcel to Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) of The Bourne Identity. "You always bring it back to Matt Damon, you and I always bring it back to Matt Damon," laughed Gillies.
Davis grinned. "It's all about Matt Damon."
Regaining their composure, the actors, promised that the upcoming episodes of The CW series will certainly be in the fast lane. "One thing I think anyone who's watched our show will know is it moves very quickly..." said Morgan, "And it's gonna effect them almost immediately."
The Originals returns to The CW for its second season October 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
