Supernatural will not start season 10 production by filming for the premiere. Instead, The CW program will tackle their first episodes out of order with Jensen Ackles directing episode 3.
'Supernatural' Casting For New Character, Who Is Rowena?
The actor general spends most of his time in Vancouver portraying Dean Winchester, but Ackles ended his vacation ahead of his costars and spent the last week prepping for his fourth turn as director.
"Just finished the 1st tech scout of season 10!! Time to shoot!" tweeted first assistant director Kevin Parks on Thursday.

Unfortunately for Ackles, going on a tech scout means getting pranked by the rest of the crew at lunchtime (see photo above). If he really were Dean, the actor would have no problem polishing off his meal.
"Time to prank the #supernatural director #JensenAckles!" tweeted co-executive producer Jim Michaels as the crew completed a tech scout for episode 3. "How did he not see this coming?"
Few details are know about the upcoming episode, but is may continue to feature Demon Dean unless Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Cas (Misha Collins) miraculously find a cure for the deceased Winchester and his Mark of Cain within the first two episodes of season 10.
