Filming continues for the fifth and final season of HBO's prohibition-gangster drama Boardwalk Empire, and lots of action has been spotted in Queens, N.Y. recently.

The latest location chosen for production by the HBO series is the Ridgewood Democratic Club in Ridgewood. According to one report, the series filmed some of the interior scenes there on Monday afternoon.

Some cast members could be seen hanging around outside while crew members adjusted props inside the building.
Last month crew were spotted preparing sets in Far Rockaway for the HBO series. Scenery included some old shops and a faded hotel along a desolate boardwalk. What happened to the show's signature glitz? Where is the glam?
Actor Michael K. Williams, who plays the role of Chalky White on the series, confirmed in June there would be a seven year time jump into the future, bringing the show into The Great Depression of the 1930s.
As a result, significant alterations had to be made to existing sets and, in some case, new locations such as Ridgewood and Far Rockaway were utilized.
While showrunners have refused to comment on what exactly they were filming there, it likely has something to do with the political corruption or the decay of high society. After all, this is Boardwalk Empire and The Great Depression is sure to mean hard times for even some of the program's wealthier characters. Many of the series' gangsters also experienced major shifts in power during this time.
