Guests can view the fireworks from an array of places at Navy Pier, including a bird's eye view from the Ferris wheel. Wherever you decide to sit while watching the sparks above Lake Michigan, you definitely want to get there as early as possible as nearly 120,000 people are expected to line up at the pier as well as the lakefront. Chicago authorities have advised people to get there as early as Friday afternoon. Still, there is plenty of seating available to get a good view.
Kramer added,, "You can really see them down the entire south dock at Navy Pier, but we encourage people to go as far east as possible, and to come as early as possible ... as there's always a chance that we collectively decide with the Police and Fire Departments that we might shut down the pier."
