'Real Housewives Of New York' 2014 Cast: LuAnn de Lesseps May Not Be Getting Paid For Season 6 [VIDEO]
It looks like there are some Real Housewives out there that are so desperate to stay on the program that they're even willing to appear for free. Rumor has it that recently demoted Real Housewives of New York star LuAnn de Lesseps was so eager to stay on the show that she offered to film episodes without getting paid.
Sonja Morgan Is Desperate To Keep Her Home Despite Her Financial Woes
Lesseps was demoted to a part-time Housewife this year because according to Bravo's executives, she just wasn't as interesting or exciting as her cast mates. Rumor has it, though, that Lesseps was so desperate to stay on that she's working for free this season just so her name can stay in the headlines.
"She had to suck it up because they wanted her back, but didn't want to pay her," a source tells Radar Online. "She just wasn't bringing it. This year she got fearful so she threw Sonja under the bus."
Meanwhile, there are also rumors circulating that there might be a few Housewives on the chopping block after this season as Bravo is looking to change their line-up once again.
"Every year they say people will be fired," the source adds. "They'll put that out in the news because they always need new girls. The cast mates aren't fired - at least, not yet."
Even with the possible firings though, there are two Housewives stars who might be safe, for now, at least. The insider goes on to say that Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan might be back for the next season while the rest of the cast will be gone.
"When it's time to do negotiations Ramona and Sonja would be the first to know," the source continues. "There is no show without Ramona and Sonja. Sonja is the funny sex pot and Ramona's the one who throws glasses."
The Real Housewives of New York airs every Sunday at 10 p.m. EST/PST on Bravo.
