Penny Dreadful's been gaining quite a bit of attention since Showtime renewed the series last month for a second season. Now that season one has ended, the cast and crew are on their way to the San Diego Comic-Con.

'Penny Dreadful' Creator John Logan Talks 'New Adventure' For Season 2

Deadline announced yesterday that Penny Dreadful will be appearing at Comic-Con Thursday. July 24th for a 6 p.m. panel. The San Diego event will also feature tie-in merchandise and signings with the cast and crew, capitalizing on the current show's success to both draw in new viewers and pay homage to existing fans.

Creator John Logan will be in attendance, along with actors Reeve Carney, Josh Hartnett, and Harry Treadaway, also known as Dorian Gray, Ethan Chandler, and Victor Frankenstein. The panel with by moderated by Aisha Tyler (Friends, Whose Line Is It Anyway?).

'Penny Dreadful' Performer Reeve Carney's Battle Between Music And Acting

While Comic-Con is a popular gig for supernatural television series, this will be the first Comic-Con for Penny Dreadful, which premièred on Showtime back in May, and quickly generated commercial and critical success.

"[It's] a really good human drama of very flawed, interesting people," claimed actor Timothy Dalton during a Sky Atlantic interview following the show's May premiere in London (featured below).

"I think the ambition is to create a story that's long lasting and it doesn't have any bounds to it," said Hartnett, "The ambition is to create a box so large for the show that anything can be poured into it."

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second season in 2015.
