Josh Hartnett (Pearl Harbor, 30 Days of Night) plays is one of the central figures on Showtime's Penny Dreadful and while filming for season two begins next month, Hartnett and girlfriend, Tamsin Egerton (The Look Of Love, Grand Piano) continue to remain attached at the hip.

A 'Rare Connection' Continues Between Characters For Season 2 Of 'Penny Dreadful'

The 25-year-old British actress frequently visited Hartnett on location in Ireland during production for season one of the Showtime series. With season two approaching and their relationship still going strong, could Egerton soon nab a role on Penny Dreadful?

According to the UK Daily Mail, Hartnett and Egerton spent this past Wednesday together walking around downtown New York City. Before that they spent time vacationing in Venice, Italy. The two have been dating since 2012.

'Penny Dreadful' Could Be Toning Down The 'Gore'

This week, Hartnett heads to San Diego for Comic-Con before returning to Ireland to film season two. Will Egerton be joining him and, if so, will she ever nab a guest role on the series?

The supernatural Victorian drama lost no leads during the season finale, though a few secondary characters met their ends, most notably Sir Malcolm's (Timothy Dalton) doomed daughter Mina.

Nonetheless, the series still has a vivid world to populate and new characters are bound to be developed for the new season. It is no far stretch that Egerton could ultimately land a role.

In a 2011 interview (featured below) for Chalet Girl, the frequently comedic actress explained that a recent American performance would hopefully show that she was also capable of doing more dramatic work. Her appearance in the 2013 thriller Grand Piano seems to echo her preference for diversity.

Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for a second, longer season in 2015.
