The frightening process of human skitterization has begun on Falling Skies.

Which Side Will Lexi Choose On 'Falling Skies', Human Or Alien?

The Espheni are planning to turn humanity into an enslaved fighting force against some unnamed evil, but the alien invaders first need to eliminate free will. Scorch and his team spent months perfecting the perfectly obedient soldier, but Jeanne Weaver (Laci J Malley) gave her life to show the 2nd Mass that free will is not so easy to squash out as the fish heads would like to think.

Before "Evolve or Die," Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) and Dan Weaver (Will Patton) viewed human skiterization as a distant threat. Now, however, the resistance fighters have a concrete image of a fate worse than death.

"I think Jean came in and served her purpose, which was to remind Weaver that he has a heart and how big it is, and I think it was just time to go," Malley explained in a Falling Skies featurette. "I went as the beast we are all fighting, so it's kind of a wakeup call [for the 2nd Mass]."

While Jeanne became a creature that could barely be recognize as a human, fans are still slightly riled by a photo Drew Roy (Hal) posted of his character wearing fangs near the end of season 4 filming. Is he next on the list for skitterization, or is the oldest Mason brother merely using a fake pair of sharp teeth as a disguise like the series previously did with a harness?
