Actress Eva Green has taken on impressive roles in 300: Rise Of An Empire and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, and now the star will be taking on history from a whole new angle.

Last week it was announced that Green will be featured in this years "Mythology Mixology" Calendar for Campari, an aperitif alcohol brand.

Taking on a classic 1950s look in a red dress and matching red lipstick, Green will work with photographer Julie Fullerton-Batten to represent the brand's "colorful" history.

"To work with an iconic worldwide brand such as Campari is an honor and a privilege," claimed the French actress. "There is something very special about this year's theme as it pastries a compelling and almost magical balance between the classic and the contemporary."

Green knows a thing or two about the blending of genres, having recently starred in the first season of Showtime's Victorian supernatural drama Penny Dreadful. On the series, which will return for a second season in 2015, Green plays the mysterious Vanessa Ives, a woman burdened by past mistakes and engaged in a very real battle with the devil for her own soul.

The 34-year-old brunette, who found herself bruised from limb to limb from Penny Dreadful stunts back in May, was all style and sophistication for the Campari photo shoot.

"At the root of each image is this rich sense of history behind each of Campari's best loved cocktails, but they are presented in a way that is ultra modern, exuding imagination and style," explained Green, "It's a thing of incredible beauty and clearly shows that whilst some of these recipes are over one hundred years old, they are still relevant to and adored in today's world."

The 2015 Campari Calendar will include recipes and anecdotes, focusing on a specific cocktail for each month.
