TNT Renewed Shows 2014: 'Falling Skies,' 'The Last Ship' & 'Major Crimes' All Get More Episodes [VIDEO]
For all of the fans of what TNT has been doing recently in terms of their dramatic programming, there's some good news out there.
Major Crimes Season 3 Spoilers
On Friday, HitFix reported that the network has renewed Falling Skies, The Last Ship and Major Crimes.
Falling Skies, which stars Noah Wyle and tells the story of a war between humans and aliens, is getting 10 more episodes, after which the show will end after five seasons. The Last Ship, a new production from Michael Bay, is getting a bump, as they will have 13 episodes in their second season, after only have 10 in their first go round. Major Crimes, a spinoff of The Closer starring Mary McDonnell, is having a strong summer from a ratings standpoint, and has gotten a 15-episode fourth season with no sign of an endpoint. This makes sense because as a procedural, as long as the ratings stay strong, they can keep figuring out stories to tell. This is as opposed to a show like Falling Skies, which is a bit more close ended, and also more expensive.
Falling Skies Season 4 Spoilers
This is not the end of the news for TNT. On Wednesday, August 13 at 9:00pm, they are debuting a new show called Legends, starring Sean Bean. In the show, Bean plays an FBI agent who changes himself into a different person for every case. Lawyer show Franklin & Bash returns the next night, and then nighttime soap Dallas comes back August 18. After years of being the network that airs Law and Order returns, clearly TNT has come into its own as a source of original drama.
