Hank Azaria has been voicing some of the most beloved characters on FOX's The Simpsons such as Apu, Chief Wiggum and Moe, since season one, but now he will be lending his voice to a different animated program for FOX.

Family Guy Season 12 News

As reported by Deadline on Sunday, Azaria will be voicing the lead character in a new cartoon called Bordertown.

Bordertown comes from Family Guy creator and television impresario, Seth MacFarlane, alongside Family Guy writer Mark Hentemann. Azaria's character is Bud Buckwald, a Border Patrol agent and family man. He lives next door to an immigrant, Ernesto Gonzalez, voiced by Nicholas Gonzalez, in a desert town on the border betwixt the United States and Mexico.

The Simpsons Hosting Three Day Event In Los Angeles

Given that this is a cartoon from MacFarlane, it is safe to assume that the comedy will likely be a bit crude and low brow, and jokes about immigration and ethnic minorities will likely flow. He has a style of comedy that he, and his underlings, like to work in, but it has been quite successful for FOX so far, so it is no surprise they are willing to give him another shot, even if none of his shows have found the success of Family Guy, and even that show had to be saved from cancellation.

Alex Bornstein, Missi Pyle and Judah Friedlander will also be contributing their voices. The show has not been scheduled yet, but eventually Bordertown will likely be joining FOX's Sunday cartoon lineup. Azaria has won Emmys for his voice work on The Simpsons, so he makes a fine choice to lead this new cartoon.
