'Killjoys' Pilot: 'Warehouse 13', 'Brothers & Sisters' Actors Join The SyFy Series To 'Chase Deadly Warrants' [VIDEO]
An upcoming space adventure show for Syfy has cast three key roles.
SyFy Announces Sharknado Sequel
TV Line reported on Tuesday that Aaron Ashmore, Hannah John-Kamen, and Luke Macfarlane have all been cast in the outer space adventure drama Killjoys.
The show, from the producers of the cultishly adored Orphan Black, and written by creator of Lost Girl Michelle Lovretta, "follows a fun-loving, hard-living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war."
Conan O'Brien Promotes Roles In UpComing SyFy Movie
That sounds like it has the potential to have a lot of action and adventure to it. People flying around the universe hunting down aliens is going to at least be of interest to science fiction fans.
Ashmore is probably best known for playing Steve Jinks in the later seasons of SyFy's Warehouse 13. He will play John Jaqobis, a witty peacemaker. John-Kamen, a relatively unknown British actress, plays Dutch, who is, of course a gorgeous but deadly woman. Macfarlane, who played Scotty Wandell on ABC's Brothers & Sisters. He plays D'Avin, who is a former soldier tough guy. These are all very much archetypes, and well-worn ones at that, but that does not necessarily mean it won't be good.
The show will be given a 10-episode first season, which will begin shooting in Toronto later this year. The intention is for Killjoys to air in 2015. Get excited, space opera fans.
