Futurama, which was co-created by The Simpsons' creator Matt Groening, aired for four seasons on FOX, before being canceled and then resurrected on DVD and then Comedy Central.

Will Krusty The Clown Die In The Simpsons' Premiere?

It has since been canceled again, likely for good this time, but Fry, Bender, Leela and the rest are going to get the chance to show up one more time. On Sunday, Entertainment Weekly reported that a crossover episode featuring Futurama characters on The Simpsons will air November 9.

The episode is entitled Simpsonsorama, and the synopsis indicates that Bender, everybody's favorite hard drinking amoral robot, will travel back in time to kill Bart because Bart does something that wreaks havoc in the future. For those unfamiliar, the premise of Futurama involves a slacker named Fry being frozen on New Year's Eve 1999 and waking up on the verge of the year 3000. This is not the first time The Simpsons has crossed over with another show. They have had episodes featuring characters from The Critic and The X-Files as well.

Simpsons Character To Die In Season 26 Premiere

This is not the only big news for The Simpsons for their upcoming season, however. More focus has been placed on the fact that in the season premiere, which airs September 28 and is called A Clown in the Dumps, will feature a character dying. However, at this point showrunner Al Jean is saying that there is a chance the character will comeback as a ghost or in flashbacks, so they may never be gone forever. Meanwhile, after a character dies on The Simpsons, a dead show will be resurrected in Futurama, if only for one night.
