‘Party Down South’ Season 2 News: Cast Heads Back To Pensacola After Being Kicked Out of City, As Show Has Highest Rated Episode Ever? [VIDEO]
Though the city of Pensacola, Fla. Initially moved not to allow CMT's Party Down South to film in their city for their second season, things appear to be different now, as two cast members of the popular party series were recently in town to promote an event.

Ryan 'Daddy' Richards, one of the show's stars, and his good friend Josh Tharpe, who recently appeared on two episodes, were the judges at a Splash bash and bikini contest at Pesacola's Castaway's Bar and Grill July 25 and 26-mere months after Richards and his fellow cast mates were virtually kicked out of the city.
The show, which depicts drunken brawls, steamy hook-ups and all-around bad behavior, was removed from the city as it prepared to film its second season there four months ago. After hotels, rental agencies and other businesses all refused to cater to the show's cast and crew, the production was moved to Athens, Ga. However, the initial resistance appears to have worn down a small amount, as the same critics who initially moved to keep the show out of town, are now supportive of the cast being there for the events they promote-as long as their actions don't wind up on television.
"I do find it ironic that we told them they are not welcome and now we're using them as a celebrity guests," Terry Preston, one of the advocates against the show told the Pensacola News-Journal. "But I'm not going to ask a private business what it's doing inside its own doors. If its inside their business, it's their choice as long as they are not filming and using it as a part of their (reality) production."
The appearance came on the heels of the series posting its highest-rated night ever with the July 17 episode, making CMT network history with 1,156,000 total viewers and a 1.03 rating overall. The show grew an impressive 27 percent in adult viewers 18-49 over season one, and has increased a total of 12 percent overall.
Party Down South airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on CMT.
