The young adult adaptations have begun to take over Hollywood and with two new, and one returning franchise kicking off this fall, it has become tougher to distinguish which is which. But The Maze Runner looks to show off its own unique vision in the latest trailer for the sci-fi film.

Based on the young-adult novel by James Dashner, The Maze Runner centers around teen Thomas (O'Brien), who awakens in a rusty elevator with no memory of who he is. What he does come to find out is that he's been delivered to the middle of an intricate maze, along with a slew of other boys, who have been trying to find their way out of the ever-changing labyrinth - all the while establishing a functioning society within the enclosure they've come to call "The Glade."

The trailer does a great job of beginning to flesh out all that this maze is about. The first few trailers were used more as teasers of the peril that the characters will face, but this one focuses more on the characters and what they each are feeling in this dystopian society.

The scale alone looks impressive with this film, but it also has a clear Hunger Games vibe that it is trying to sell audiences on, but time will tell if this franchise has the same punch that the Hunger Games franchise seems to have with audiences.

The Maze Runner is directed by Wes Ball and stars Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Aml Ameen, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee, and Patricia Clarkson. It opens in theaters on September 19.
