Major Crimes recently featured an episode that seemed to be setting up a potential spinoff, and an episode about the star of a crime procedural being a murder suspect, but now the show seems to be heading back to more traditional territory for the ninth episode of the season.

Luke Perry To Guest On Major Crimes As Actor/Murder Suspect

On Tuesday, Carter Matt reported on what to expect from this upcoming episode of Major Crimes.

The next episode is called Sweet Revenge but the source of this revenge remains a mystery. What is known is that the Major Crimes division will be supremely busy dealing with the "mysterious murder" of a tech-entrepreneur. Granted, if the murder wasn't mysterious, then Major Crimes probably wouldn't have to work so hard. Apparently this murdered person had questionable morals and mob connections, so that should give viewers some sense of where this story may be headed.

Major Crimes Renewed For Fourth Season

Additionally, Rusty is going to struggle when Sharon Raydor's son Ricky comes home for a visit. Plus, Fritz Howard will prepare to assume command of the Special Operations Bureau. This is relevant to the aforementioned potential spinoff. Perhaps Jon Tenney's Fritz is indeed going to be heading off elsewhere, and if he is, Sweet Revenge should give viewers further clarification on it.

There is a lot of season left for Major Crimes, which is in the midst of a 19-episode season, with a fourth season on the way. Sweet Revenge airs August 4. It may be not be outside the box, but that doesn't mean this won't be a worthwhile episode for fans of the show.
