Maks Chmerkovskiy Is "Done" Competing On Dancing With the Stars
Murgatroyd said that DWTS producers would need to find a technical judge who could replace Goodman, since that's the role he fills on the panel.
"Carrie Ann [Inaba] is more on the emotional side, Bruno [Tonioli] is the entertainment factor, and Len is the technique stickler. So we'd definitely need someone to replace him."
Maks made it clear that Goodman "is the show" in terms of being a huge contribution to its decade-long success. Brother Val added that if the producers decide to switch the judging panel then he won't complain: "If they do change it, if the producers decide that's a good idea, then that's what I go with. I stick to dancing."
Goodman indicating that he might be leaving Dancing With the Stars during the last week of competition in Season 18. Along with Tonioli, Goodman travels back and forth between the U.S. and Britain in order to also judge the British version of the series, Strictly Come Dancing.
Dancing With the Stars Season 19 is set to premiere Monday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. The network is also planning a separate results show for the first two weeks of competition, to air on Tuesday.
