Headline-maker Monica Lewinsky is upset with Netflix's Orange is the New Black after the prison comedy-drama made a joke at her expense.

Lewinsky wrote a piece for VanityFair.com where she discussed the joke in question. In Episode 11 of the first season, Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) tells Daya (Dascha Polanco) that she needs to "Lewinsky that s--" and "get some splooge on your uniform." in order to incriminate Pornstache (Pablo Schreiber).
This was a reference to one of the biggest stories in the '90s, when Lewinsky admitted to having sexual relations with President Bill Clinton.

Lewinsky did not take kindly to the OITNB joke, writing:
"I did what I usually do in these situations where the culture throws me a shard of my former self. After the cringing embarrassment, the whiff of shame, and the sense that I am no longer an agent running my own life, I shuddered, I got up off the sofa, and I turned it off."
Based on Lewinsky's comments, it seems that the 41-year-old will not be continuing to watch the series going forward.
Orange is the New Black's impact on culture has extended to real life as one prison in Michigan is changing the color of the prisoners' uniforms due to the show making orange seem "cool." They have switched to traditional black-and-white striped uniforms.
Orange is the New Black Season 3 is expected to being streaming in Summer 2015 on Netflix. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming on the site.
