'Expendables 3' Movie News: Antonio Banderas Says His Character Is 'Holding A Little Pain Inside' And Wesley Snipes Teases Cool, Southern Part [VIDEO]
While The Expendables 3 isn't set to open until August 15, or on a nearby computer for those who obtained the film illegally, some of the movie's stars talked about their characters and added some details to a few of the new additions.
'Expendables 3' Leak Probes Federal Investigation
During a Reddit Ask Me Anything on Monday, Antonio Banderas and Wesley Snipes talked about the origins of their characters and some of the issues each of them would be dealing with during the film.
On his character, Banderas said that his character "had something that happened in the past" that he must deal with. "My character is a guy who is holding a pain inside from something that happened to him in his past, a soldier, but covers this up with compulsive way to behave, you know? He's a compulsive talker, he cannot stop talking," Banderas said.
Final 'Expendables 3' Trailer Offers One Last Tease Of Massive Action
"He is very fun, but at the end you can see the funny ways he has, they are like a shield to protect him against his own misfortune in some other time. That's basically what the character is all about. A very lonely guy, very solitary, he could be sad if I performed him in another way, but I tried to bring a lot of light and fun."
As for Snipes' character, he talked about his past with the team and what to expect from his "charming" persona.
"My character is Dr. Death, and he is a very philosophical individual. Well, you know, he's been away for a while, things happen, you know? He grows into understanding things about himself he didn't understand before," Snipes said.
"He's a medic that used to be one of the original team members, he's a renegade, he's very handsome, and he's one of the best characters in the show. He's from Sweden. The southern part."
