Falling Skies lost three main members of the 2nd Mass during "Saturday Night Massacre," and the cast was as sorry to see them go as viewers.

Maggie To Choose Between Ben & Hal's Plans For Lexi? Love Triangle Gets New ProblemOn 'Falling Skies'

The aptly titled episode left over 70 2nd Mass fighters lifeless, including Lourdes (Seychelle Gabriel), Tector (Ryan Robbins), and Dr. Kadar (Robert Sean Leonard). While Lourdes met her end at the hands of Lexi, Kadar died from the gas main explosion and Tector sacrificed his life to keep Tom (Noah Wyle) and his 2nd Mass family safe.

Shortly after the bloody battle left our TV screens, Robbins took to Twitter to express their sadness at leaving the TNT program.

New Species Variations In Store On 'Falling Skies', Human Skitterization Is Only The Beginning

"Tector will always be a favorite for me," Robbins wrote. "And @FallingSkiesTNT will always feel like family. #FallingSkies #TickTickBoom"

While Tector and Kadar willingly went down protecting those he cared about, Lourdes was tricked into death by the series' human/alien hybrid. However, the overarching concept of family hit home in the wake of each death, particularly Lourdes' since a Mason technically killed her.

"Family is about who you choose and who you are willing to die for," said showrunner David Eich at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, according to Buddy TV.

While his words had less weight a week ago, "Saturday Night Massacre" really drove home the message he wanted to send.
