'Guardians of the Galaxy' Movie News: Josh Brolin Says He Knows Of One Or Two Movies Thanos Will Be In, Talks What Makes His Character Tick [VIDEO]
Thanos will be Marvel's big bad, but it seems like the Mad Titan won't be appearing very often for the time being. Now Josh Brolin seems to know when he will be next showing up, but a few more appearances have become fuzzy for the actor.
Speaking with IGN on Thursday, Brolin knows of one appearance and said there are one or two that he wasn't so sure on right now.
"I know what one appearance is going to be for sure. There's one or two that I don't know," Brolin said.
He also spoke about his inspirations with the character, talking about how he drew from such classic villains as the Emperor from Star Wars or Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now.
"I start thinking of all those things, but that's after the fact, I want to know that these guys are really into what they're doing," Brolin said.
"His relationship with Death, who is actually the woman, I love that," Brolin enthused. "You can take Sin City [in which Brolin plays a man obsessed with a dark-hearted woman] and pump it full of steroids, and then you have Thanos," Brolin said.
"I like that he's motivated by that - not just motivated by destruction or death or this or that. He's motivated by a very identifiable, human trait."
Brolin also talked about Thanos' relationship with the other Avengers and how it came out a little during his Comic-Con reveal.
"Not that I'm ever 100-percent sure, but we had constructed this small thing, Kevin Feige and I and Robert, and going on-stage at Comic-Con. Then it became something else. Once I got on-stage, it sort of became its own improv," Brolin said.
"I knew at that point, because I saw the rivalry between Robert [Downey Jr.] and I, and I thought, 'I get this. I suddenly really get it.' So I feel like I'm more inside it than I was. It was more a display to me before that. It was more cosmetic. Now I think I'm starting to get who the guy is a little bit."
Thanos was last seen in Guardians of the Galaxy, which is now in theaters.
