'James Bond 24' News: Lea Seydoux Rumored To Be Director Sam Mendes' Top Pick For Film's Main Girl [VIDEO]
It looks like Sam Mendes is zeroing in on his Bond girl pick after the script has finally found a more stable place.
With Adele In Hold Out, 'James Bond 24' Likely To Have Sam Smith Record Theme Song
According to The Playlist posted on Friday, Grand Budapest Hotel and Blue Is The Warmest Color star Lea Seydoux is rumored to be on the top of Mendes' list of potential female leads for the upcoming Bond 24. French actress Seydoux is also known for her American role in Midnight in Paris.
In another report by Schmoes Know, it seems producers are looking for a "lead female (30-40) attractive, sophisticated, cool and calm secret agent." The source of the scoop went on to elaborate, saying this was the breakdown for the Miranda Frost character; a character name that first appeared in the movie Die Another Day.
'Harry Potter' Star & Kate Upton Show Interest In 'Bond 24'
Schmoes Know elaborated on Frost, who was portrayed by Rosamund Pike in Die Another Day, labeling her as a double agent working for MI6; however, her true allegiance lies with Gustav Graves, the main villain of the film.
Seydoux has yet to grit her teeth in an action role for an American movie and seeing her get more mass exposure with a Bond movie could make her a star. She has shown that she has the acting chops in her previous roles, but this would be a monster step for the French actress.
Other rumored names include Kate Upton and Penelope Cruz, but it seems like Mendes is leaning towards someone younger and with better acting chops.
Bond 24 is set to be released on November 6, 2015.
