British pop star Rita Ora had to cancel her Teen Choice Awards performance and is now revealing that it was her ex-boyfriend's fault.

Ora detailed that her song I Will Never Let You Down could not be performed because of contract rights with Calvin Harris, her ex-boyfriend. She told the reasons with Ryan Seacrest on the air. Ora explained, "For anybody who doesn't understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song, so he has to approve anything TV-wise." This is why Harris had the abilities to cancel Ora's performance.

Ora wishes that she would have been told earlier, but was not surprised that the performance was not allowed to happen. The song, I Will Never Let You Down has spent eight weeks on the Billboards chart. For how great the song is, Rita explained that her performance was going to be "awesome." Upon immediately finding out she would no longer be performing, she stated she was devastated. She posted a photo on Instagram that showed the pop star with a whiteboard saying "I Love You Teen Choice" with a caption saying "Sorry I Couldn't Be There."

Meanwhile, Harris is riding the benefits from his latest single, Summer.

I Will Never Let You Down is the first single to be released from her upcoming album. On Twitter she posted a sneak peek of her new music video Black Widow which will be released soon. Fans can only hope that Harris allows the star more TV rights in the future.
